Green Pasture Applauds Firestone Liberia

HARBEL, Liberia, West Africa (November 23, 2006)- Firestone Liberia has been commended for the positive impact it has made and continues to make on the health and educational sectors as well as the reconstruction drive of Liberia.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Green Pasture Funeral Service in Unification Town, Lower Margibi County, Henric Marcus Speare, on behalf of his institution, said they were highly gratified by the company’s contributions in the areas of training, employment and its expanded educational programs.

Speare praised Firestone Liberia for the ongoing renovation works at Duside Hospital and the reopening of an outpatient service currently being rendered at the hospital.

In a letter to the President and Managing Director of Firestone Liberia, Charles E. Stuart, dated Nov. 16, 2006, Speare said, “Your actions are positive and in the right direction.” The letter also applauds Firestone Liberia for the improved educational and housing opportunities it continues to place at the disposal of its employees and their dependents.

“Let me point out and thank you immensely for the care and concern your company continues to demonstrate, especially the repair road work on the Monrovia/Robertsfield Highway, which has considerably reduced accident risk and restored the dignity of having a pleasant and an impressive drive from the lone international airport into the capital, Monrovia,” Speare said.

Speare described Firestone Liberia as “a true, genuine and traditional partner” of the Liberian people and nation.

The letter further quotes Speare as calling on all well-meaning Liberians and those residing within the borders of Liberia to support and give Firestone Liberia the strength and fortitude needed so as to achieve the “good” for Liberia and its people.
