Brick by Brick: The Business of Rebuilding Liberia

Internal Affairs Minister Commends Firestone Liberia for Development Efforts

Marking the official rededication of the Jorquelleh/Kokoyah Highway in Bong County after a year-long repair effort led by Firestone Liberia, Liberian Internal Affairs Minister Ambulai Johnson commended the company’s continued developmental initiatives.

According to an article in The Informer, Johnson cited Firestone Liberia’s work as "a classic example of the kind of partnership the Government of Liberia wants between it and corporate entities operating in the country." District representatives Togbah and George Mulbah also thanked Firestone Liberia for its efforts, noting that the company immediately got to work on a road repair plan after being contacted in mid-2008.

The Informer article also applauded the use of Firestone Liberia’s earth-moving equipment and dump truck in the ongoing Monrovia City cleanup campaign launched recently by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
