Firestone Liberia Congratulates Spelling Bee Winners

On behalf of Firestone Liberia, I would like to congratulate the winners of the spelling bee competition that was held April 25, 2009, at the American Library in Mamba Point:

  • First place - Sandra Tamba, a sixth grader at the Richardson Baptist Elementary and Junior High School in Zwedru
  • Second place - Thomas Russ, a 12-year-old student at the Buchanan Modern Elementary School in Grand Bassa County
  • Third place - Lahai Lumeh, a 17-year-old student at the Gbesseh Elementary and Junior High School in Grand Cape Mount County

Firestone Liberia joins the American Embassy Community and the Monrovia Brewery Incorporated in saying we are proud to reward these deserving students for all their hard work. In addition, we congratulate the 66 spelling bee contestants who made it to the finals.

Firestone Liberia firmly believes that the best place for children is in the classroom. That’s why we operate 25 schools with 17,000 children enrolled in them. We were encouraged to see so many students taking part in this exciting educational opportunity.
