Brick by Brick: The Business of Rebuilding Liberia

Law Students Donate 30,000 Pounds of Books to Liberia

Liberian law students, lawyers and judges will have plenty to read thanks to students from The Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Va., who are donating 30,000 pounds of law books.

The hefty law library will be carried from Norfolk, Va., to Liberia aboard one of Firestone Natural Rubber Company's ships, which is scheduled to leave the United States in August. The company makes space available on its ships free of charge for relief goods and other donated cargo as part of an effort to help Liberia recover from a 14-year civil war.

Read the Richmond Times-Dispatch article about the law students' generous donation, then learn how you can get involved in Firestone's Donation Cargo Program.
